Are we responsible for the wrongs that our ancestors committed in the past? Should we include the effects on future generations in our policies? What is the moral status of past victims and future people? These questions are as central as controversial to a normative understanding of justice between generations. In this introductory seminar on intergenerational justice, we will be discussing both questions of historical injustice and reparations as well as obligations to future generations when dealing with the climate crisis.
