In this course, you will learn to understand the main points of speech, radio and TV programs on current events, and topics of personal and academic interest. You will practice reading different kinds of texts that consist of everyday and job-related language. You will also learn how to write simple connected texts. You will improve your speech interaction and production skills, using a wide variety of activities and exercises on topics that are familiar, of personal interest, or pertinent to everyday life. Grammatical points include present perfect and past simple, yet and already, modals of deduction, obligation, and permission, past modals of obligation, present perfect simple and continuous, for and since, separable phrasal verbs, passive voice, articles, and reported speech.
