In this course, you will learn to understand extended speech and lectures and to follow complex lines of argument regarding a familiar topic. You will practice reading articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems as well as literary prose. You will also learn how to write clear, detailed texts on a wide range of topics. You will improve your fluency, speech interaction and speech production skills by taking an active part in classroom discussions. You will learn to present and explain your points of view on a wide range of topics related to your field of interest. Grammatical points include expressing habits, modal auxiliary verbs, expressions with modal verbs, hypothesizing, articles, determiners, and demonstratives.
