In this course participants will get a basic understanding of what science is and how science works. In particular, it is discussed how theories are developed and tested, how models are built and what technologies are available to support decisions. The course concludes with a discussion on rigor versus relevance.
The course is a specialization course for doctoral students and students of the MSQ program. The course is interactive with participating doctoral students presenting certain topics that are discussed intensively afterwards. The participants have to read literature and prepare presentations which are graded.
