This course introduces the complex and often provoking writings of one the
most influential English writers of the 20th century. The seminar will start
off with a workshop on the author, his time and how to approach literary
realism and the Lawrentian oeuvre (Saturday 30 October 2021, in
attendance). Discussions of a selection of Lawrence’s short stories will take
place every other week via Zoom. We will close the semester with a workshop on Lawrence’s
last and most scandalous novel, Lady Chatterley’s Lover (1928) on 19 February
2022.
