Dr. Malreddy's article states that populism defines a broad range of movements and is not a single phenomenon. From right to left, dictatorship to democracy, and other forms, populism is present in almost every nation. The mirror analogy was already used in Session 1 while discussing the nature of this seminar's teaching style and, in my opinion, also fits well in the context of populism. Populism as a mirror of democracy is a discourse-worthy opinion, especially in the context of John Pilger's documentary. To what extent can populism serve as a "mirror" for democracy, highlighting its flaws, without becoming a threat to democracy itself?
